Doug Brininger had this custom paint done at Bucky’s LTD in Martinsburg and Travis once again hit his mark. An outstanding original! While we had Travis painting, we installed our Silver Bullet Heads in this 95 ci motor, Screamin’ Eagle pistons and stage 3 cams to get a roaring 107 hp and 111 lbs. of torque on this 2006 Heritage. The custom wheels, rotor and pulley along with new chrome everywhere just completed the look. Not only an inspiring bike to look at but one that will be hard to catch! |

I bought my 02 Road King Classic new in 2002 from the dealership and after the test drive I decided I needed more power so I invested in the 95" big bore kit. It seemed to have a little more power but I wanted more so I added a PCIII USB to tweak it a little more ( I am the a power hungry biker). Still was a little better but not enough for me. Then a dude told me about this place called Skip's Cycles in Winchester. It's about 45 miles from my house so I never really went out there. When I finally went out I met this dude named Scott. He told me I wanted a 95" kit which I told him I already had. He said it was not from Skip's. Well, long story short was I got it. Un Freaking real !!! The power is awesome 110hp and 115 ft lbs of torque (the torque was what I was looking for). Now the only thing I can say is why do it at the dealership when for a couple of extra bucks you can get the real thing. Normally the story would end here but not with me. When I find something good I tell my friends about it. Well one of my riding buddies has an 06 Ultra with the 103 incher on it and didn't like me pulling away from him so he went to Scott and told him all he wanted was to kick my ass. Unfortunately Scott told him he wanted the 117" kit (thanks Scott). Well he picked it up this weekend with 130hp and 145 ft lbs of torque on it and now he pulls away from me. Now I might have to put the 117 incher on my 02 Road King and then put Skips 124 on my 00 Ultra just to keep one step ahead (I know, guys and their testosterone). Skip's in my opinion is a great place and they do great work. I have already sent a couple of other friends up there and will continue to go and send others there as well. No more dealership for me. It will be the guys at Skips. Thanks for your professionalism, great attention to detail and all that freakin' power. Bottom line is if you want great service on the simple things and more power, go to Skips and deal with the guys who care !!!!
BTW - Not sure of the mechanic's name who was there on Saturday, would like that if possible. I would like to add one more thing here for the boss. It was a real pleasure for Scott and the mechanic to talk to us about the upgrade and some of the stuff you folks are doing up there for performance. Not many places you can go to anymore where people take the time to talk. I like the atmosphere and the people.
Thanks again Sirs !!!
Testimonial: I ditto everything Ted said about Skip’s.
There’s no hard-sell. No selling you stuff you don’t need. Nothing but straight talk. Skip’s delivers what they promise and back it up with great service and support if you ever need it.
BTW: I’m the guy with the 2006 Screaming Eagle Ultra and the 117 upgrade, 130hp/145tq, who kicks Ted’s hinny! Pure joy!
Grinning and waving bye-bye!!!!
Regards, Ed Watkins

Bubba just happens
to be one of our top salesmen out on the street. He does us all proud by
sending everyone to our humble little shop. We are happy to oblige and
take good care of all his buddies. Whether it’s a service or a major
engine overhaul Skip’s will treat your ride as if it we’re his own. |

Hi guys;
I just wanted to say thank you for getting me going in such short notice on July 1st, 2006. I was just starting a four day week-end & the starter went out on the Wide Glide™, you know, the pretty blue one....LOL We were set to roll out, about 8 of us on a long ride, when the bike would not start. Luckily my buddies gave me a push & she fired right on up, (must have been the good work Skip did when he tuned it). Anyway, it took me 45 minutes to arrive at your shop. Jason & Scott (I hope that’s the guys name working the counter) got me right in, determined it was the starter. You had one in stock & within 1 hour, I was back in action... :) It's hard to find any service shop, on a holiday week-end that would go beyond what Skip's did for me. Not only does Sally make ya feel at home, like your old friends, she always has a lil candy basket on the counter. It’s no wonder I refer your shop to people just about everyday. Jason, thanks man for treating my scooter like it was your own, I appreciate it. Rob "Bubba" Glaze |
Skip’s recently installed a 117ci twin cam engine in his bike. The final dyno tune produced excellent numbers. This motor puts out an impressive 120 hp and 140 lbs. of torque! Anyone who knows Kenny knows he won’t hesitate to put it to the test. |

Skip, I would like to thank you and your team again for your attention to detail and professionalism that you showed while working on my bike. Most shops would not have gone that extra mile like your team did to track down a problem that appeared to be nothing more than an annoyance. In my book that speaks volumes about a business and that also demonstrates that you are a cut above the rest. If anyone I know is looking for great service and satisfaction I will send them your way.
Thanks again,

Just wanted to give you a little info about
my ride home. When I first rode this bike after the 95" build I was very
disappointed in it. Not only that it didn't perform well but mostly that
it vibrated worse than my 78 FX does at anything below 85 mph. 73,000
miles on this motorcycle and the last 2,000 during the new motor break
in were the hardest to do. When the local Harley dealer told me he
couldn't do any more with the tuning because of my choice of parts I was
ready to go back to stock parts and an 88" motor or buy a new bike. Even
though it rained and was fairly cold from Roanoke to Greensboro the bike
was a pleasure to ride again. All the vibration is gone and I was able
to read the gps and sat radio display. The performance is far beyond
what I expected and I can't thank you guys enough. I've been Harley
riding for almost 40 years and you guys remind me of what the dealers
used to be like. I hope we have an opportunity to do business again. Thanks Joe Bernstein |

Settle on his 1999 Road King. Skip totally refurbished this bike
including an unmatchable paint job by Bucky’s LTD of Martinsburg. This bike went from stock to show quality.
Some of the new enhancements include Wrath PM wheels, diamond cut
cylinders & heads, Rinehart
exhaust, braided cables, Kuryakyn Hi-way bars, a dash insert, & lots of
chrome. The engine was also modified with Stage II Silver
Bullet heads, S&S cams & much more. This bike now has over 100 hp! Truly a
show stopper.
Thanks Stan, it’s been a lot of fun!!! |
